HOMEPAGE _ MUSIC IN COMMON

Black Legacy Project

By popular demand, Music in Common returns to The Wayward Artist with their Black Legacy Project! If you missed them the first time, now is your chance to experience an evening of powerful music, honest conversation, and community connection.

Music in Common strengthens, empowers, and connects communities through the universal language of music. By curating shared experiences that span social divides, Music in Common helps people discover common ground through facilitated conversation and music. Their work centers two foundational principles: it is hard to hate up close, and music can change the world.

Music in Common’s Black Legacy Project is a musical celebration of Black history to advance racial harmony, bridge-building, and partnership. The show entertains, educates, informs, and inspires audiences with music, multimedia, and spoken word. Audiences journey through history with songs that have been reimagined and original works that speak to the current state of Black-White race relations in the U.S., highlighting the power of music as a force for human connection and social change. A film screening of the Black Legacy Project documentary short will open the event.

This evening at IUCC will be an uplifting and interactive celebration of music and story, rooted in shared humanity and open to all. Don’t miss this inspiring return performance
— bring your friends, your curiosity, and your whole self.
