What the Program Offers
Art. Justice. Community.
This six-week creative workshop invites adults to explore social justice through music, poetry, theatre, movement, and visual art. Each session blends conversation, reflection, and hands-on creation as participants develop an original piece of activist art. No artistic experience is required—only curiosity, compassion, and a willingness to engage.
The workshop meets on six consecutive Wednesdays from 6:00–9:00 PM, beginning January 21, 2026, and culminates in a community showcase on Sunday, March 1, 2026.

Each week centers on a core social justice issue, explored through guided discussion and artistic examples across disciplines including theatre, film, music, poetry, and dance. Topics include racism, immigration, sexism, queer rights, global injustice, environmental racism, and more.
Participants develop a personal creative piece through writing prompts, devising exercises, art-making activities, and one-on-one check-ins. Final works may take many forms, including:
- Poems
- Scenes or Monologues
- Songs
- Visual Art
- Movement or Dance Pieces
- Hybrid or Interdisciplinary Creations
No prior artistic experience is required.
The workshop culminates in a live showcase where participants present their original work for friends, family, and the wider community—celebrating creativity, courage, and collective reflection.
